The Hiflofiltro HF170C is a spin-on replacement oil filter with a chrome-finished canister, made for riders who service their own bikes and want a tidy, OEM-standard part on show. It is a straight replacement service item, fitted at each scheduled oil change.
Hiflofiltro builds its filters to meet or exceed original equipment specifications, and the range carries TÜV approval — useful reassurance when a filter is the last line of defence between your oil and your engine's bearings.

- Replace the oil filter at every oil change, following the service interval in your motorcycle's owner's manual.
- Drain the old oil before removing the filter so it empties more cleanly, and take care — oil and components may be hot.
- Smear a light film of clean engine oil over the new filter's rubber sealing ring before fitting; this helps it seat correctly and makes the next removal easier.
- Check that the old sealing ring has come away with the used filter — fitting a new filter over a stuck gasket will cause leaks.
- Screw the filter on by hand until the gasket contacts the mounting face, then tighten to the torque specified by your motorcycle manufacturer. Do not over-tighten.
- Refill with the correct grade and quantity of oil, run the engine briefly, then check around the filter for leaks and re-check the oil level.
- Single use only — do not attempt to clean, flush or refit a used filter.
- Store spares in their original packaging in a cool, dry place; wipe the chrome housing with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive polishes or solvents.
- Drain used filters and take them, along with the used oil, to a recycling or waste-oil collection facility rather than putting them in general waste.
