Alpinestars GP Plus R V4 Airflow Leather Jacket Black White

The Alpinestars GP Plus R V4 Airflow is a race-derived sport leather jacket built for warm-weather road and track riding. It carries over the pedigree of the long-running GP Plus line with a revised silhouette, refined detailing and a lighter overall build, then adds extensive perforation zones across the chest and sides plus vented shoulders to keep air moving at speed.

Construction is a mix of 1.3mm race-grade and standard bovine leather with A-CS™ Plus composite stretch panels on the torso — a MotoGP-derived material that is lighter and lower in profile than traditional leather accordion panelling while offering greater stretch, tear and cut resistance. Technical stretch under the arms, on the inner arms and around the neck, together with a pre-curved sport fit, keeps the jacket comfortable in a tucked riding position.

Protection is handled by DFS dual-density external shoulder sliders over Nucleon Flex Plus shoulder armour and GP-R Lite extended elbow armour, and the jacket is Tech-Air® ready for riders running an Alpinestars airbag system. Best suited to sport riders, track-day regulars and anyone wanting AA-rated leather that breathes in Australian heat.

Remove the shoulder and elbow armour and the detachable thermal vest before any cleaning.
Spot clean the leather with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water; do not machine wash, dry clean, bleach or use solvents, petrol or harsh detergents on the shell.
Use a leather conditioner sparingly on the outer panels to stop the hide drying out; avoid conditioning the A-CS Plus stretch panels and perforated zones.
If the jacket gets wet, hang it to dry at room temperature away from direct sunlight, heaters and exhausts — heat will shrink and harden leather.
Hand wash the thermal vest and mesh liner separately in cool water and air dry; refit only once fully dry.
Check before each ride that the shoulder and elbow armour is seated correctly in its pockets and has not shifted after cleaning.
Expect a short break-in period: race-grade leather and the pre-curved sport fit will feel snug at first and mould to your riding position with use.
Do up the 3/4 waist zip to your Alpinestars leather pants and set the hook-and-loop waist and cuffs so the armour stays over the joints in a slide.
Open the abdomen vents in hot weather and remove the thermal vest; refit the vest for cooler rides.
Store on a wide, shaped hanger in a cool, dry, ventilated space — never folded, compressed under gear, or left damp in a bag.
Inspect stitching, zips, sliders and armour after any crash or slide, and replace impact-damaged armour and abraded panels before riding again.
