The GIVI TNH1178 is a model-specific upper engine guard set for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports from 2020 onwards. It extends protection above the engine and around the upper fairing area, covering the zone that lower bars alone leave exposed in a tip-over or low-speed drop.
Designed for riders who take the Adventure Sports off the bitumen or simply want peace of mind in car parks and on loose surfaces, the guards bolt to existing mounting points on the motorcycle for a bike-specific fit with no cutting or modification.
Important: the TNH1178 is an upper section only and is designed to be fitted in combination with the GIVI TN1178 lower engine guards, which are sold separately.

- Fit the TN1178 lower engine guards first, then mount the TNH1178 upper section to them and to the motorcycle's factory mounting points.
- Leave all fasteners finger-tight until the complete assembly is aligned, then tighten to the values given in the fitting instructions supplied with the kit.
- Before riding, check that the guards do not foul the steering at full lock, the front wheel, the radiator, hoses or any wiring, and that they clear the bodywork through the full suspension range.
- Re-check the mounting bolts after the first ride and then at regular service intervals, as vibration and corrugations can loosen fasteners over time.
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly; avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads, which can damage the finish.
- After riding in rain, mud or on salted or coastal roads, rinse and dry the guards and mounting points to reduce the risk of corrosion.
- Touch up any deep scratches or chips promptly so that bare metal is not left exposed.
- After any drop or impact, inspect the guards, brackets and mounting points for bending, cracking or elongated bolt holes, and replace damaged parts rather than attempting to straighten or weld them.
- Do not use the guards as a lifting, jacking or tie-down point unless the fitting instructions specifically allow it.
