The Givi TN3117 is a model-specific pair of engine crash guards built for the Suzuki V-Strom 1050 from 2020 onwards. Formed from 25mm steel tubing and finished in black powder coat, the bars mount solidly to the frame and wrap the sides of the engine to help absorb the impact of a tip-over.

It suits V-Strom owners who ride loaded, tour on unfamiliar surfaces or park on soft ground, where a low-speed drop can be expensive. The clean tube lines follow the bike's existing shape rather than fighting it, so the guards look at home on the standard bodywork.

Supplied as a left and right pair with mounting hardware and instructions. Givi recommends fitting by a qualified mechanic.

  • Givi recommends installation by a qualified mechanic; follow the supplied instructions and the vehicle manufacturer's torque specifications for any frame fasteners that are removed or reused.
  • Tighten all mounts progressively and evenly, leaving fasteners loose until both bars are located, then final-torque once alignment is correct.
  • Before riding, check that the bars clear the bodywork, radiator, hoses, cables and the full steering lock, and that they do not foul the side stand or centre stand operation.
  • Re-check all mounting bolts after the first ride, then at regular service intervals, as vibration can loosen hardware over time.
  • Wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly; avoid abrasive pads, solvents and high-pressure washing directly at the mounting points, which can damage the powder coat.
  • Inspect the finish periodically for chips or scratches and touch them up promptly, as exposed steel will corrode, particularly in coastal or salted-road conditions.
  • After any drop or impact, inspect the bars, brackets and mounting points for bending, cracking or elongated holes, and replace damaged components rather than attempting to straighten them.
  • Do not use the crash guards as a lifting, tie-down or jacking point, and do not modify them by drilling, cutting or welding.
