The GIVI TN3101 is a model-specific engine guard designed for the Suzuki V-Strom DL650. It surrounds the engine and lower bodywork so that a tip-over, park-up slide or low-speed drop is absorbed by the tubular steel frame rather than by cases, covers and plastics that are expensive to replace.

Because the guard is made for this bike rather than adapted from a universal kit, it follows the lines of the V-Strom and mounts to the machine without spoiling its proportions. It suits adventure and touring riders heading onto gravel and unsealed roads, as well as commuters who want insurance against a carpark drop or a slow-speed spill.

GIVI recommends fitting by a qualified mechanic to ensure the guard is correctly located and secured.

  • Model-specific engine guard for the Suzuki V-Strom DL650 (2011-2019)
  • 25 mm diameter steel tube construction
  • Shields the engine and lower bodywork in a tip-over or low-speed fall
  • Compatible with the original oil carter (sump)
  • Compatible with the GIVI RP3101 oil carter protector (sold separately)
  • Fitting by a qualified mechanic recommended

  • Have the guard fitted by a qualified mechanic, using the mounting points and hardware specified for the DL650.
  • Re-check all mounting fasteners after the first ride or two, then at regular service intervals, as vibration can loosen them over time.
  • Wash with warm water and a mild detergent, then dry thoroughly; avoid harsh solvents and abrasive pads that can damage the finish.
  • Touch up any stone chips, scratches or scuffs promptly so bare steel is not left exposed to moisture.
  • After riding in rain, on salted or coastal roads, or through mud, rinse and dry the guard and check the mounting brackets for trapped grit and early signs of corrosion.
  • Inspect the guard after any fall or impact; a bent, cracked or distorted bar has done its job and should be replaced rather than straightened.
  • Do not use the guard as a lifting or tie-down point on a trailer unless your tie-down method has been checked as suitable, and keep straps off painted surfaces.
  • If you also run the GIVI RP3101 oil carter protector, refit both items in the correct order after any engine or sump work.
  • The guard may need to be removed for access during some servicing tasks; refit it to the specified torque afterwards.
