The Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus is a compact satellite communicator built for the places where phone coverage runs out. With a 1.9-inch colour touchscreen, a built-in speaker and microphone and a connection to the global Iridium satellite network, it lets you send and receive text messages, voice messages and photos, share your location, and trigger an interactive SOS to Garmin Response — no mobile tower required.
It suits adventure and touring riders heading into remote country, as well as trail riders, four-wheel drivers, hikers and anyone whose route regularly leaves cellular range. Clip it to a jacket, tank bag or pack with the supplied loop carabiner and it stays out of the way until you need it.
An active inReach satellite subscription is required for messaging, tracking and SOS functions. Some jurisdictions regulate or prohibit the use of satellite communication devices — it is the user's responsibility to know and follow all applicable laws.

- Activate an inReach satellite subscription and complete a test message before you rely on the device — messaging, tracking and SOS will not work without an active plan.
- Charge the internal lithium battery fully before your first trip, and top it up before any long ride; recharge every few months during storage rather than leaving it flat.
- Keep the device and the Garmin Messenger and Garmin Explore apps up to date so firmware and software changes are applied before you head out of range.
- Mount or clip the unit with the supplied loop carabiner to a jacket, tank bag or pack with the antenna facing up and an unobstructed view of the sky for the most reliable satellite performance.
- Wipe the case and screen with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent; avoid solvents, petrol, chain cleaner and abrasive cloths, which can damage the housing and display.
- Rinse off salt spray, mud and dust after riding, then dry the unit — it is rated IP67 for dust and temporary immersion, not for pressure washing or high-pressure hoses.
- Make sure the charging port cover is clean, dry and fully seated before exposing the device to rain or water; charge only when the port is completely dry.
- Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it on the bike in extreme heat, which shortens lithium battery life.
- Use the SOS function for genuine emergencies only, and cancel promptly if triggered by mistake so Garmin Response can stand down.
- Check local regulations before travelling — some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit the use of satellite communication devices.
