One-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, issued by Garmin Australasia Pty Ltd. Within the warranty period, Garmin will repair or replace defective components at no charge for parts or labour; the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Australian Consumer Law guarantees also apply and are in addition to this warranty. To make a claim, contact Garmin Australasia on 1800 235 822 to obtain an RMA number, then ship the unit prepaid and insured to: Garmin Australasia Returns, 19 Hawthorne Avenue, Marsden Park NSW 2765. Proof of purchase from an authorised retailer is required. Products purchased via online auctions are not eligible for warranty coverage.
- Mount the device to handlebars up to 1 inch in diameter using the included motorcycle mount; lock the device securely into the cradle before riding and verify it is seated before each trip.
- Power the device from the motorcycle's electrical system using the included motorcycle power cable, or charge via the USB cable when off the bike. Avoid regularly depleting the battery to zero to preserve long-term lithium-ion battery health.
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network to check for and download map and software updates directly on the device; on-screen prompts will indicate when updates are available. Alternatively, use Garmin Express on a computer.
- Download Australia and New Zealand maps via Garmin Express before first use, as they are not preloaded on the AU retail unit.
- Install the free Garmin Tread app on a compatible smartphone and pair via Bluetooth for live traffic, weather, ride summaries, incident notifications, and group ride tracking.
- To clean the screen, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth only. Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents, window cleaners, or abrasive cloths, as these can damage the display coating.
- While the device is IPX7 rated, always dry the charging port thoroughly before connecting any cable following exposure to water.
- Do not store the device inside a closed vehicle in summer conditions; extreme heat can degrade the battery and damage the display. Store in a cool, dry location when not in use.
- If adding map data via microSD card, insert the card with the device powered off, and use a card no larger than 256 GB.
- Back up saved routes, tracks, and waypoints regularly via the Tread app so user data is not lost if the device is reset, repaired, or replaced.
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
