- Check the sprocket teeth regularly for wear — hooked, shark-fin shaped, or heavily worn teeth indicate the sprocket needs replacing.
- Always replace the front sprocket together with the rear sprocket and the drive chain; mixing worn and new components accelerates wear on all parts.
- Ensure correct chain tension after fitting, following the specific motorcycle manufacturer's specification.
- Apply motorcycle chain lubricant to the chain at regular intervals, which also benefits sprocket longevity.
