- Disconnect the motorcycle's battery before removing the old relay or fitting this unit.
- Confirm your motorcycle's electrical system is 6 volts before installation — fitting a 6V relay to a 12V system will cause it to malfunction or fail.
- Check that your indicator bulbs are rated at 8W or 10W to match the relay's 8/10W specification; mismatched bulb wattage will cause incorrect flash rates.
- Inspect the relay socket and terminals for corrosion or damage before fitting; clean terminals with an appropriate electrical contact cleaner if needed.
- Ensure the relay is seated firmly in its socket and that any retaining clip or cover is secured after installation.
- After fitting, reconnect the battery and test both indicator circuits (left and right) before riding.
- Store unused relays in a dry environment away from moisture and extreme temperatures to prevent terminal corrosion.
