Disconnect the indicator circuit or isolate the battery before replacing a globe to avoid short circuits.
Allow a recently used globe to cool before handling — the glass envelope retains heat after use.
Avoid touching the glass envelope with bare fingers; skin oils can create hot spots and reduce globe life. Use a clean cloth or gloves when fitting.
Insert the globe into the bayonet holder, push in gently and rotate to lock into the retaining pins until it seats securely.
After fitting, reconnect power and confirm correct indicator flash rate before riding — an abnormally fast or slow flash rate can indicate a faulty globe or a wiring issue.
Store unused globes in their original packaging in a dry location away from impact and vibration to prevent premature filament damage.
Match replacement globes to the original voltage and wattage specification; fitting an incorrect globe can damage the indicator circuit or cause erratic flashing.
