- Ensure the ignition and all electrical circuits are switched off before removing or installing globes.
- Avoid touching the glass envelope with bare fingers — skin oils can create thermal stress points; handle by the base or use a clean cloth.
- Confirm your vehicle runs a 6-volt electrical system before fitting; fitting a 6V globe to a 12V system will cause immediate failure.
- Insert the T10 capless base straight into the socket and press firmly until seated; no rotation is required.
- If a replacement globe fails quickly, inspect the socket for corrosion, poor earthing, or voltage irregularities before fitting another.
- Store unused globes in their original packaging in a cool, dry location to prevent moisture ingress and glass degradation.
- Dispose of failed globes safely — do not crush, as the glass envelope may be under vacuum.
