- Turn off the vehicle's ignition and allow the instrument panel to cool before replacing any globe.
- Match the replacement globe exactly to the original specification — 12V, 3W, BA9S base — to avoid damage to wiring or the instrument surround.
- To fit, align the bayonet pins with the socket slots, push in gently and twist clockwise until the globe locks into place.
- If a globe fails shortly after replacement, inspect the socket for corrosion or signs of a wiring fault before installing another globe.
- Do not fit globes rated at a higher wattage than specified; excess heat can damage plastic instrument surrounds and adjacent wiring.
- Handle globes carefully — dropping or knocking them can fracture the filament.
- Store unused globes in their original packaging in a cool, dry location away from moisture.
- Dispose of spent globes in accordance with your local council's waste disposal guidelines.
