Operations & maintenance

Confirm the disc matches your exact model and year against EBC's application data before fitting.
Fit with the wheel removed and the mounting face clean and free of burrs, rust or old thread locker.
Tighten disc bolts evenly in a cross pattern to the torque specified in your machine's workshop manual, using new fasteners or thread locker where the manual calls for it.
Degrease the new disc thoroughly before first use - handling oils, packaging preservative and finger marks will contaminate the braking surface.
Fit fresh pads with a new disc wherever possible; used pads carry a wear profile that will not match the new surface.
Bed the new disc and pads in with a series of progressive stops from moderate speed in a safe, controlled area before hard riding or racing.
Keep chain lube, degreaser and aerosol overspray off the braking surface; mask the disc when cleaning or lubricating the drivetrain.
After riding in mud, sand or water crossings, rinse the disc and caliper area, then dry the disc with a few light drags of the brake before storing.
Inspect regularly for scoring, cracks, heat marks and run-out, and measure thickness against the minimum specified for the disc - replace once it reaches that limit.
Do not machine, skim or straighten a bent or worn disc; replace it.
