- Before installation, soak new aramid fibre friction plates in the correct grade of engine or transmission oil (per your motorcycle manufacturer's specification) for a minimum of 30 minutes to saturate the material.
- Bed in new clutch plates gradually — avoid aggressive clutch slipping or heavy loads for the first 500 km to allow the friction material to seat evenly against the steel plates.
- Always use an oil type and grade approved for wet-clutch applications; oils containing friction modifiers (some car engine oils) can cause clutch slip and should be avoided.
- Inspect steel separator plates for warping or heat discolouration at each clutch service; replace if out of tolerance per your motorcycle workshop manual.
- Check clutch cable or hydraulic system adjustment after fitting new plates, as plate stack height may differ slightly from worn originals.
- Do not run the clutch dry — always ensure oil is present before starting the engine after a clutch service.
- Store unused plates in a sealed bag, away from moisture and solvents, until ready to fit.
