Description

The Shinko E805 is the rear half of Shinko's E804/E805 dual sport range, built for adventure and dual purpose bikes that spend roughly 60% of their time off road and 40% on the bitumen. Its classic big-block tread gives genuine bite in dirt, gravel and mud while still holding a predictable line on sealed roads.

A four-ply nylon carcass and a tear-resistant compound help the tyre stand up to sharp rocks and hard-edged trail surfaces, and the open tread layout clears debris and sheds water for dependable wet and dry grip. Pair it with the E804 front for a matched set.

This listing is for a single rear tyre in 140/80-17, load and speed rating 69Q.

Operations & maintenance

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using the correct bead lubricant and rim protection.
Check the sidewall for any rotation arrow or fitment direction marking and fit the tyre accordingly.
Scrub the tyre in gently for the first road ride or two, avoiding hard acceleration, heavy braking and deep lean angles until the release agent has worn off the surface.
Check and adjust cold inflation pressure before each ride and before long trips, using the pressure specified by your motorcycle manufacturer for the load you are carrying.
If you run lower pressures for off-road traction, return to the recommended road pressure before riding at highway speeds.
Do not exceed the load and speed rating marked on the sidewall.
Inspect regularly for cuts, torn or missing tread blocks, embedded stones, bulges and uneven wear, and replace the tyre when it reaches the tread wear indicators.
Wash with mild soap and water only; keep petrol, brake cleaner, solvents and tyre-shine dressings off the tread and sidewalls.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and sharp objects.
After any impact with a kerb, pothole or rock, have the tyre and wheel inspected before further riding.
