The DRC Pro Tyre Lever with 17mm Ring Spanner puts two of the most-used wheel tools into a single piece of heat-treated steel. One end is a shaped tyre spoon for levering beads on and off the rim; the other is a 17mm ring spanner for the axle nut, so a wheel can come out and a tube can be changed without digging through the rest of the kit.
It suits dirt, enduro and motocross riders who carry a compact trail kit, as well as anyone doing tyre changes on the workshop bench. The slim, one-piece form packs flat in a tool roll, bum bag or fender pack, and the same lever is offered in six wrench sizes so you can match it to your bike's axle nuts.
Sold individually. Most tyre changes are easier with two or three levers, so consider pairing this one with additional spoons.

- Confirm your bike's axle nut size before use — this lever carries a 17mm ring end, and DRC offers the same tool in other sizes.
- Fully deflate the tyre and break both beads away from the rim before levering, so the bead can drop into the well of the rim.
- Use two or three levers together and take short bites of bead at a time; forcing one lever through a long section risks pinching the tube.
- Use rim protectors or work with care on painted and anodised rims — bare steel spoons can mark the rim edge.
- Spray or smear tyre soap or a light soapy solution on the bead to reduce the effort needed and to protect the tube.
- Use the ring end to loosen and initially snug the axle nut, then finish with a torque wrench to the manufacturer's specification; this lever is not a torque tool.
- Don't slip a pipe over the handle as a cheater bar, and don't use the spoon as a chisel or pry bar — both can bend or crack heat-treated steel.
- Wipe the tool clean of soap, water and mud after each use, dry it, then wipe it with a light oil or corrosion inhibitor before storing.
- Inspect the spoon tip and ring end periodically for burrs, deformation or cracks, dress light burrs with a file, and retire the tool if it is bent or cracked.
- Store in a tool roll or pack so it does not rattle against and scratch other tools or bodywork.
