Description

The D.I.D 520ERS3 is part of D.I.D's Exclusive Racing series, built in 520 pitch and supplied in a 102-link length with a gold/gold plated finish on the inner and outer plates.

It suits riders replacing a worn 520 drive chain on a sports or track-focused machine, and it ships with a rivet-type connecting link, so fitting requires a chain breaking and riveting tool.

Check your bike's required chain length and sprocket sizes before ordering — 102 links may need to be shortened to suit your gearing.

Operations & maintenance

Fitting requires a chain breaker and riveting tool — the supplied connecting link is a rivet type and must be pressed and riveted correctly; do not substitute a clip link.
If your bike needs fewer than 102 links, shorten the chain with a chain breaker before fitting; never reuse a removed link as a joining link.
Set and check chain slack to the figure specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual, measured with the bike unladen and at the tightest point of the chain's rotation.
Check and adjust wheel alignment whenever you adjust chain tension, using the swingarm markings or a wheel alignment tool.
Clean with a purpose-made chain cleaner or a soft brush and kerosene; avoid wire brushes, petrol, harsh solvents and high-pressure washers.
Lubricate with a motorcycle chain lubricant after cleaning, after riding in the wet, and at regular intervals — more often for track and high-mileage use.
Inspect regularly for tight or kinked links, damaged rollers, missing plates and excessive stretch; replace the chain if any are found.
Fit a new chain with new front and rear sprockets — worn sprockets will rapidly wear a new chain.
Store spare chain in its packaging in a cool, dry place so the factory lubricant is not contaminated.
