Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; never use petrol, acetone or abrasive cleaners, as these degrade the shell finish and any applied graphic.
Wipe the visor or face shield (if fitted) with a clean microfibre cloth and a dedicated visor cleaner to prevent fine scratches that impair vision.
Hand-wash removable interior liner and cheek pads in warm water with mild detergent; allow to air-dry completely before reinserting — never tumble-dry or use direct heat.
Inspect the chin strap and buckle for fraying or buckle failure before each ride; retire the strap if wear is visible.
Store the helmet in its carry bag or box, away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour and extreme heat — UV exposure and hydrocarbons degrade the shell over time.
Do not paint, drill or permanently modify the shell; doing so can compromise structural integrity.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is present — internal foam damage is not always apparent.
As a general guideline, retire and replace the helmet every five years from first use, or sooner if the EPS liner shows signs of compression or the shell shows crazing.
