  • Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution; never use petroleum-based solvents, acetone or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the finish and shell integrity.
  • Clean the visor or face shield with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth; avoid dry wiping, which can introduce fine scratches.
  • If the interior liner or cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cold water with a mild detergent and allow to air-dry completely before refitting.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extreme temperatures, ideally in a helmet bag to protect the shell and liner.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top of or inside the helmet during storage.
  • Inspect the chin strap, buckle and retention hardware regularly; if any component shows signs of fraying, corrosion or failure, cease use until repaired or replaced.
  • Replace the helmet after any significant impact — even without visible external damage, the impact-absorbing liner may have been permanently compressed and will offer reduced protection in a subsequent impact.
  • As a general industry guideline, consider retiring the helmet after five years from the date of first use, or sooner if the interior foam or retention system shows signs of deterioration.
