Wipe the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petrol-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, or paint thinners, which can damage the finish and shell integrity.
Clean the visor (if fitted) with a dedicated visor cleaner or plain water and a microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor, as dust will scratch the surface.
Remove and hand-wash any removable interior liner and cheek pads in cool water with mild detergent; allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
Inspect the retention system (chin strap and buckle) regularly for fraying, cracking, or loss of function; replace if damaged.
Do not store the helmet on a fuel tank or near petrochemical products, which off-gas fumes that degrade EPS foam over time.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and UV exposure, ideally in a helmet bag, to prevent degradation of the shell and liner materials.
Replace the helmet after any impact — even one with no visible external damage — as the EPS liner is a single-use energy absorber.
As a general guide, retire the helmet after five years of use or earlier if the fit loosens, the shell shows cracking, or the liner compresses noticeably.
