- Rinse panels with clean water after each ride to remove mud, sand and debris before it dries and scratches the surface.
- Wash with a mild motorcycle-specific cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge; avoid abrasive pads that can scuff the finish.
- Do not use petrol, acetone or harsh solvents on the plastic — they can cause cracking or discolouration over time.
- When refitting panels, tighten all mounting bolts/grommets to the manufacturer's torque specification; over-tightening can crack mounting tabs.
- Inspect all panel tabs, grommets and fasteners before each ride and replace any that are cracked or missing to prevent panels from vibrating loose.
- Store unused panels away from prolonged UV exposure and extreme heat, as these can cause plastic to fade or warp.
- A plastic-safe UV protectant spray can be applied periodically to help maintain colour and resist fading.
