The Cardo Spirit HD is an entry-level helmet communication system for riders who care about sound quality without stepping up to a flagship unit. It pairs two riders over Bluetooth intercom at ranges of up to 600m, and gives you two separate mobile channels so your phone and GPS can stay connected at the same time.
Audio comes from 40mm HD speakers with three selectable sound profiles, backed by automatic volume control that lifts and drops the level as wind and traffic noise change around you. Built-in FM radio with RDS covers you when there's no phone signal, and music streaming, calls and turn-by-turn navigation prompts all come through the same set.
The unit is waterproof, charges over USB Type-C, and updates over the air through the Cardo Connect app. This is the single-unit pack — one rider's kit. Because it uses universal Bluetooth intercom, it will also talk to headsets from other brands.

- Charge the unit fully before your first ride — a full charge takes up to 2 hours over USB Type-C.
- If you're short on time, a 20-minute top-up gives about 2 hours of talk time.
- Fit the speakers into your helmet's ear pockets so they sit directly over your ears; poor speaker placement is the most common cause of thin or quiet sound.
- Run the speaker and microphone cables neatly under the helmet lining so they aren't pinched by the shell or the cheek pads.
- Install software updates through the Cardo Connect app over the air, or by USB cable — updates can add features and improve intercom pairing behaviour.
- Use the Cardo Connect app to choose your sound profile, set FM presets and enable Automatic Volume Control.
- The unit is waterproof, so riding in rain is fine, but dry the exterior and the USB-C port with a soft cloth before plugging in to charge.
- Wipe the housing clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth only — avoid solvents, petrol, brake cleaner and alcohol-based products.
- Operate and store within -20°C to 55°C; don't leave it sitting in direct sun on a parked bike or in a hot vehicle.
- For long periods off the bike, remove the unit from its mount, store it dry, and recharge it occasionally rather than leaving the battery flat.
- Don't dismantle the unit or attempt to replace the internal battery yourself.
