The Cardo Spirit HD is an entry-level helmet communication system built around sound quality rather than a long spec sheet. Powerful 40mm HD speakers, a dedicated audio processor and three selectable sound profiles give it audio well above its price point, while automatic volume control raises and lowers the level as wind and traffic noise change around you.

It links two riders over Bluetooth intercom at up to 600m, so it suits rider-to-pillion or a regular riding buddy rather than a large group. Two separate mobile channels let your phone and GPS stay paired at the same time, and calls, music streaming, turn-by-turn navigation prompts and the built-in FM radio all come through the same set. The unit is waterproof, charges over USB Type-C and updates over the air through the Cardo Connect app.

This is the single-unit pack — one rider's kit. Because it uses universal Bluetooth intercom, it will also talk to headsets from other brands.

Charge fully over USB Type-C before first use; a full charge takes up to 2 hours, and 20 minutes on the charger is enough for about 2 hours of talk time.
Use the Cardo Connect app (iOS or Android) to change settings, set FM presets and choose between the three sound profiles.
Keep the unit current with over-the-air software updates through the Cardo Connect app, or update by USB cable if you prefer.
Position the speakers directly over your ears in the helmet's ear pockets — correct placement makes a large difference to audio quality and to how well automatic volume control works.
Mount the base plate on the helmet shell before fitting the unit, and check the clamp or adhesive is secure before each ride.
The unit is waterproof, so riding in rain is fine, but dry the housing and charging port before plugging in a USB cable.
Wipe the unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents, alcohol or abrasive cleaners on the housing or speaker grilles.
Operate between -20°C and 55°C. In very cold or very hot conditions, expect reduced battery runtime.
Store charged in a cool, dry place if the unit will be unused for a long period, and top the battery up every few months rather than leaving it flat.
When pairing with another brand's headset, use the universal Bluetooth intercom pairing mode rather than the standard phone pairing mode.
