The Cardo Packtalk Edge is Cardo's flagship helmet communicator, supplied here as a single unit for one rider. A ground-up redesign of the Packtalk platform, it does away with the external antenna in favour of a slim, low-profile body that snaps onto the helmet using the patented magnetic Air Mount — once the mount is fitted, there are no clips or brackets to wrestle with.

It suits riders who want dependable group communication without the fuss. Second-generation Dynamic Mesh Communication keeps groups connected and self-healing as riders drift in and out of range, while Bluetooth 5.2 handles your phone, GPS and headsets from other major brands. Natural Voice operation means you can leave the controls alone and simply say "Hey Cardo", and the JBL-tuned audio makes music, calls and rider chatter genuinely pleasant at speed.

With an IP67 waterproof rating, USB-C fast charging, over-the-air software updates and a three-year warranty, it is well suited to Australian riding conditions and long days in the saddle.

Fit the Air Mount baseplate to your helmet first (clamp or adhesive), route the speakers and microphone, then simply snap the unit onto the magnetic mount before each ride and remove it afterwards.
Charge via the USB-C port; a full charge takes up to 2 hours, and a 20-minute top-up gives roughly 2 hours of talk time if you're short on time.
For battery health, avoid leaving the unit flat for long periods — top it up every few months during extended storage rather than storing it fully discharged.
Keep the unit up to date through over-the-air updates in the Cardo Connect app, or by USB cable, so you get the latest DMC and Bluetooth improvements.
Use the Cardo Connect app to pair phones and GPS units, manage intercom groups, set FM presets and choose your JBL audio profile.
The IP67 rating means the unit handles rain and washdowns, but dry it with a soft cloth before charging and don't plug in a wet USB-C port.
Clean the housing and speakers with a soft, slightly damp cloth only — avoid solvents, alcohol, petrol and pressure washing.
Remove the unit from the helmet before transporting or storing the helmet in a bag, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight and extreme heat.
Operate within the rated -20 °C to 55 °C range; performance and battery life drop outside it.
Check the speaker and microphone cabling and the mount fastening periodically, and keep the magnetic mount contacts free of grit so the unit seats cleanly.
