Cardo 2nd Helmet Audio Kit for Packtalk Bold / Smart - Non-JBL

This is Cardo's second-helmet audio and microphone kit, made for riders who want to run a single intercom across two lids. It fits out a second helmet with its own speakers, mounting hardware and microphones, so your PackTalk, PackTalk Bold or SmartPack unit simply slides across when you swap helmets rather than being unpicked and re-glued each time.

Both a hybrid microphone and a corded microphone are supplied, so you can set the helmet up whichever way suits its shape — a boom-style corded mic for open-face and flip-front lids, or the slim hybrid mic for a snug full-face. This is the non-JBL version, matching standard (non-JBL) PackTalk Bold and SmartPack sets.

Well suited to riders who keep a road helmet alongside an adventure or open-face lid, or who need a pillion helmet kitted out for occasional use.

Fit the mounting hardware to the second helmet only — the intercom unit itself stays with you and clips onto whichever helmet you are wearing.
Position each speaker directly over the ear canal; if the helmet has deep ear pockets, pack behind the speakers so they sit close to the ear without pressing on it.
Choose one microphone for the helmet: the corded boom mic suits open-face, modular and flip-front helmets, while the hybrid mic suits snug full-face helmets where a boom will not fit.
Aim the microphone at the centre of your mouth, with the marked side facing your lips, for the clearest voice pickup and best noise cancelling.
Route the speaker and microphone cabling around the helmet lining rather than through padding that is compressed against your head, and tuck any slack away so it cannot be pinched by the visor mechanism or chin strap.
This kit is passive — there is no battery or firmware in it. All charging and software updates are handled through your PackTalk, PackTalk Bold or SmartPack unit.
Remove the intercom unit from the helmet before washing or removing the helmet liner, and let the helmet and kit dry fully before refitting.
Clean the speakers and microphone with a lightly damp cloth only. Do not soak them, and avoid solvents, petrol or alcohol-based cleaners.
Keep the connector and its socket clean and dry; check the plug is fully seated if audio drops out on one side.
Confirm your headset is a non-JBL PackTalk, PackTalk Bold or SmartPack before fitting — JBL-equipped units use different speakers and are not matched to this kit.
