A factory replacement face shield for the Biltwell Lane Splitter full-face helmet, finished in a gold mirror coating that cuts glare on bright days. The shield is injection-moulded from scratch- and impact-resistant polycarbonate thermoplastic, with an anti-fog treatment applied to the inner surface to hold back moisture build-up from breathing and humidity.
Because each Gen-2 shield ships with the updated baseplate kit, it suits all Lane Splitter models — not just the latest one. The revised baseplate mechanism gives firmer detents across three open positions, so the shield stays put where you set it at speed.

- Clean with a mild soapy water solution and a microfibre cloth to soften bugs and road grime, then dry with a second clean microfibre towel.
- Never use harsh household or petroleum-based chemicals on the shield — particularly on the inside — as they will destroy the anti-fog and mirror coatings.
- Do not wipe a dry shield: grit dragged across the surface will scratch the polycarbonate and the reflective coating.
- Apply one drop of medium-strength (blue) thread locker to the threads of both hinge screws every time you fit a shield, and tighten by hand only.
- Install the supplied Gen-2 baseplates when fitting to an earlier Lane Splitter helmet; the improved detents rely on the matching baseplate.
- Check the shield seats fully closed and that the detents hold at each of the three open positions before riding.
- Store spare shields in a soft bag or the original packaging, away from direct sunlight, heat and anything that can press against the surface.
- A mirrored shield is intended for bright daylight — carry or swap to a clear shield for night and low-light riding.
- Replace the shield if it becomes deeply scratched, hazed or cracked, as this compromises both vision and impact resistance.
