A standard replacement headlight globe for motorcycles, scooters and ATVs that run a 12V 45/40W BA20D bulb. The BA20D base is a two-pin bayonet fitting with a dual filament, so the one globe covers both high and low beam.

Suited to riders replacing a blown or dimming original bulb, or keeping a spare in the tail pack. Before ordering, check the markings on your existing bulb (voltage, wattage and base code) to confirm they match — headlight housings vary between models.

  • 12V 45/40W headlight bulb (high/low beam)
  • BA20D two-pin bayonet base
  • Dual filament — single globe serves both beams
  • Direct standard replacement for original BA20D headlight bulbs
  • Suits motorcycles, scooters and ATVs fitted with a BA20D headlight

  • Check the voltage, wattage and base code stamped on your existing bulb (12V, 45/40W, BA20D) before fitting to confirm a match.
  • Switch off the ignition and let the old bulb cool completely before removing it — headlight bulbs stay hot well after shutdown.
  • Handle the globe by its metal base and avoid touching the glass with bare fingers; skin oils can create hot spots and shorten bulb life. Use a clean cloth or gloves.
  • If the glass is touched, wipe it with methylated spirits on a lint-free cloth and let it dry before switching on.
  • Align the two side pins with the slots in the socket, push in and twist to lock — do not force the bulb if it will not seat.
  • Refit the rubber boot or dust seal correctly so the headlight housing stays sealed against water and dust.
  • Test both high and low beam before riding, and re-check headlight aim after replacement.
  • Repeated early failures usually point to charging system overvoltage, a loose connector or excessive vibration rather than the bulb — have the wiring and mounting checked.
  • Store spare bulbs in their packaging, in a dry place, protected from knocks.
