The Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 is the rear tyre in the 180/60WR17 (75W) fitment, supplied tubeless and ready for supersport and naked bikes running a 17-inch rear wheel.
Bridgestone developed the S22 with a revised tread pattern and multi-compound construction to deliver high grip and quick, light steering without giving up the wear life of the model it replaces. Wet handling and wet grip were a particular focus, so the tyre keeps its composure when the road turns greasy.
It suits riders who spend most of their time on winding roads and want genuine sports performance, supersport owners after a balance of wet-weather confidence and longevity, and riders taking their first steps onto the racetrack. Fit as a matched pair with the corresponding S22 front tyre for the intended handling balance.

- Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre fitter using correct tyre-changing equipment; kerbside or lever-only fitting can damage the bead and casing.
- Fit only to a rim rated for tubeless use, in the size and rim width specified by your motorcycle manufacturer, and observe the rotation direction marking on the sidewall.
- Ride gently for the first ride on a new tyre, avoiding hard acceleration, heavy braking and extreme lean angles until the surface release agent has scrubbed off and the full tread width has been used.
- Set and check cold inflation pressures against your motorcycle manufacturer's handbook — check weekly and before any long or fast ride, with the tyre cold.
- Check lean-angle-specific pressures for track use with your tyre fitter or trackside support rather than guessing; running well below or above the recommended road pressures changes grip, wear and handling.
- Inspect regularly for cuts, bulges, embedded objects, uneven or scalloped wear and cracking, and have anything unusual assessed before riding.
- Replace the tyre before the tread wears down to the tread wear indicators or the legal minimum depth in your state, and replace it if it has been run flat or seriously damaged.
- Best results come from running the matching S22 front tyre; mixing worn or mismatched front and rear tyres alters the handling balance the tyre was designed around.
- Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, solvents, fuels, oils and electric motors, which accelerate rubber ageing.
- Do not exceed the tyre's load or speed rating, and keep the wheel, valve and balance weights in good condition when the tyre is changed.
