Description

The Bridgestone Battlecruise H50 is a bias rear tyre built for big American V-twin cruisers, in the popular 180/65HB16 fitment. Bridgestone developed it specifically for the cruiser segment, aiming to deliver confident grip without giving up the long service life that touring riders expect.

A rear crown profile tuned for cruiser weights and lean angles helps a heavy bike feel lighter and steer with less effort, while the construction is designed to smooth out engine vibration and coarse road surfaces for a more relaxed ride over long distances. It is a tubeless tyre and suits riders who want a modern replacement for older-generation cruiser rubber.

Operations & maintenance

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using the correct machinery — do not attempt home fitting.
Check that the size, load index and speed rating (180/65HB16 81H) are approved for your motorcycle before fitting, and observe the direction-of-rotation arrow moulded into the sidewall.
Ride gently for the first 150–200 km so the release agents wear off the tread surface and the tyre scrubs in evenly; avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and full lean angles during this period.
Check inflation pressure when the tyre is cold, at least fortnightly and before every long ride, using the pressures specified in your motorcycle's owner's manual or on the swingarm/chain-guard placard — not the maximum pressure on the tyre sidewall.
As a tubeless tyre, it requires an undamaged, air-tight tubeless-compatible rim and a serviceable valve; replace the valve and seal whenever the tyre is replaced.
Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones or nails, bulges, cracking and uneven wear, and check tread depth against the wear indicators — Australian road rules require a minimum of 1.5 mm across the tread.
Do not exceed the load and speed rating of the tyre, and never overload the motorcycle beyond the manufacturer's specified capacity.
Clean with mild soap and water only; keep petrol, oil, brake fluid, solvents and silicone-based tyre shine products off the tread and sidewalls.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors and welders, and chemicals.
Replace a tyre that has been punctured, run flat or repaired outside the manufacturer's guidance rather than relying on a plug repair for high-speed touring use.
