The Bridgestone Battlax BT46 is the modern successor to the long-serving BT45, a bias-ply sport touring tyre that carried touring and classic sport riders for more than two decades. Bridgestone has carried the BT45's familiar all-round road manners across to the BT46 while rebuilding it around current compound and construction technology.

This is the 130/90-16 M/C 67H rear fitment in tubeless form, suited to touring, cruiser and vintage sport machines running 16-inch rear wheels. The rear uses a silica-rich single compound with RC Polymer, developed with Bridgestone's NanoPro-Tech, to lift wet-weather performance and warm-up grip without giving away the dry handling and mileage the BT45 was known for.

Sold individually as one rear tyre. Check your motorcycle's handbook or tyre placard for the correct fitment, load and pressure before ordering.

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct machinery; do not attempt roadside or lever-only fitment.
  • Check that 130/90-16 M/C 67H matches the size, load index and speed rating specified on your motorcycle's tyre placard or in the owner's handbook before fitting.
  • Observe the rotation direction arrows and any fitting marks on the sidewall when mounting.
  • Though tubeless, the BT46 is UM approved in certain sizes for tube-type rims — where a tube is used, fit a new tube of the correct size rather than reusing an old one.
  • Allow a run-in period of gentle riding on new tyres, avoiding hard acceleration, braking and deep lean angles until the moulding release agent has scrubbed off the surface.
  • Check cold inflation pressure at least fortnightly and before long rides, setting it to the pressure specified by your motorcycle manufacturer for the load you are carrying; adjust only when the tyre is cold.
  • Re-check pressure a few days after fitting, as freshly mounted tyres can settle on the bead.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded objects, bulges, cracking and uneven or irregular wear, and have any damage assessed before riding.
  • Replace the tyre before tread depth reaches the legal minimum of 1.5 mm, or sooner if the wear indicators are reached.
  • Do not exceed the load index or speed rating of the tyre, and reduce speed and increase following distance in wet conditions.
  • Keep the tyre away from petrol, oil, solvents, brake fluid and tyre-shine products, which can degrade the rubber; clean with water and mild soap only.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and sharp objects.
