The Bridgestone Battlax Sport Touring BT46 is the modern successor to the long-serving BT45, a bias-ply road tyre that stayed in production for more than two decades. This is the rear fitment in 120/90-18 M/C 65V, tubeless, and it suits riders who want an all-round street tyre with an emphasis on comfort, mileage and wet-weather confidence.

It's a sensible choice for touring and commuting machines, and for older sports bikes that run 18-inch rear wheels and need a V-rated replacement. Bridgestone carried over the dry handling and wear resistance the BT45 was known for, then reworked the rear compound and construction with current tyre technology to lift performance in the wet.

Fits bikes originally specified for this size. Please confirm the size and load/speed rating on your motorcycle's tyre placard or in the owner's manual before ordering.

  • Sport touring bias-ply tyre developed to replace the long-running Battlax BT45
  • Silica-rich EX single compound on the rear for grip and even wear
  • Improved wet performance over the BT45 with no loss of its dry handling character
  • Long-lasting rear compound aimed at higher touring mileage
  • RC Polymer construction technology
  • NanoPro-Tech controlled micro structure
  • Tubeless (TBL) construction in 120/90-18 M/C, rated 65V
  • V speed rating available in common vintage sportbike sizes
  • Designed to pair with the matching BT46 front tyre
  • Certain sizes in the BT46 range are UM approved for mounting on tube-type rims — check the sidewall marking for your size
  • 1 x Bridgestone Battlax BT46 rear tyre, 120/90-18 M/C 65V tubeless (sold individually)

  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using proper machinery — never attempt to lever a modern radial-era casing on by hand.
  • Check the sidewall for the rotation direction arrow and fit the tyre the correct way around.
  • This is a tubeless (TBL) tyre and should be fitted to a rim rated for tubeless use. Only fit an inner tube if your specific size carries the UM (tube-type) approval marking, and follow Bridgestone's guidance for that application.
  • Ride gently for the first stretch of riding on a new tyre and avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and deep lean angles until the surface has scrubbed in and the mould release finish has worn off.
  • Check cold inflation pressures at least fortnightly and before long rides, using the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer on the placard or in the owner's manual — not a generic figure.
  • Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones or nails, bulges, uneven wear and sidewall cracking, and have anything suspect assessed before riding.
  • Replace the tyre once the tread wear indicators are reached or if it no longer meets the minimum legal tread depth in your state or territory.
  • Do not exceed the load or speed capability marked on the sidewall (65V), and never overload the bike.
  • Clean with mild soap and water only. Keep petrol, solvents, brake fluid and chain lube off the tyre, and don't apply silicone tyre shine to the tread.
  • Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors and welding equipment, and any sharp objects.
  • After fitting, re-check wheel balance and spoke or wheel nut torque, and re-check pressures once the tyre has settled in.
