The Bridgestone Battlax BT46 is the successor to the long-serving BT45, a bias-ply tyre that spent more than two decades as a default choice for touring and classic sports riders. Bridgestone has carried over the BT45's dry handling and wear resistance while updating the compound and construction with newer technology.

This is the rear fitment in 120/80-18, 62H, tubeless. It uses a silica-rich single compound that comes up to temperature early and works well in the cold and wet, paired with Bridgestone's RC Polymer developed using NanoPro-Tech to hold onto wear life. Suited to sport touring machines, older sports bikes and classics running an 18-inch rear.

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using proper equipment; never attempt to lever a tubeless tyre on at home without the right tools.
Check the direction-of-rotation arrow on the sidewall against the wheel before final fitting.
If fitting to a tube-type rim under the UM application, confirm the size is approved and use a new, correctly sized tube — do not reuse an old tube.
Ride gently for the first stretch after fitting: new tyres have a slick release-agent film and need to be scrubbed in before hard cornering, heavy braking or full lean angles.
Check and set cold inflation pressures to the pressures on your motorcycle's placard or in its owner's handbook, and re-check at least fortnightly and before any long ride.
Do not exceed the load or speed capability marked on the sidewall, and stay within your motorcycle manufacturer's fitment recommendations.
Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded objects, bulges, uneven or scalloped wear and sidewall cracking; have anything suspicious assessed before riding.
Replace the tyre once the tread wear indicators are reached or if the tread falls to the minimum legal depth for your state.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight, petrol, oils, solvents, and electric motors or welders that generate ozone.
After any impact, kerb strike or pothole hit, have the tyre and wheel checked even if it still holds pressure.
