Match the replacement bolt to the length of the original fastener — an over-long bolt can bottom out in a blind hole or protrude where it will foul moving parts.
Use a correctly sized Torx bit and seat it fully before applying force; a partially engaged bit is the quickest way to round out the drive.
Tighten to the torque figure specified in your motorcycle's service manual for that component, using a torque wrench rather than feel.
The flanged head seats directly against the component and does not need a separate washer, unless the original fastener used one for spacing or corrosion isolation.
Apply thread locker or anti-seize only where the manufacturer originally specified it, and follow the product maker's cure and application directions.
Clean debris and old thread locker from the female threads before fitting so the bolt draws down squarely.
