Description

Replacement Euro-style flange bolts from Bolt Motorcycle Hardware, a brand that specialises in fasteners built to match original equipment standards. The flange head spreads clamping load over a wider area than a plain hex head, which helps protect plastics, brackets and softer alloy surfaces.

Supplied as a multi-pack, these are a practical restock item for the workshop drawer or trail toolkit — useful whenever fairing panels, guards, brackets or covers shed a fastener. Suited to home mechanics and workshops servicing machines that use this common metric size.

Operations & maintenance

Confirm the thread size, pitch and length against the fastener you are replacing before fitting — do not force a bolt that will not start by hand.
Clean the threads in the receiving component and remove any old thread locker or debris so the bolt seats correctly.
Start every bolt by hand for a few turns to avoid cross-threading, particularly in aluminium and magnesium castings.
Check that the flange face sits flat and fully contacts the panel, bracket or washer surface before final tightening.
Tighten with a torque wrench to the machine manufacturer's specified torque; avoid rattle guns and impact drivers, which make over-tightening easy.
Apply thread locker or anti-seize only where the machine manufacturer specifies it, and reapply thread locker whenever the bolt is refitted.
Re-check torque after the first ride or run, then at regular service intervals, especially on vibration-prone mounts such as guards and fairings.
Replace any bolt with stripped, stretched, galled or corroded threads, or with a damaged head — do not re-use a suspect fastener.
Store spare bolts dry and in their pack to keep threads clean and prevent surface corrosion.
