ARROW 71776MI : Central Link Pipe Stainless BMW F 850 GS

The Arrow 71776MI is a central link pipe (mid-pipe) for the BMW F 850 GS and F 900 GS, fabricated from AISI 304 stainless steel. It replaces the standard central section of the exhaust and runs without a catalytic converter.

It is designed as the connecting section between the standard header and an Arrow slip-on silencer, and is not a complete system on its own — a compatible Arrow silencer is required to finish the installation. Arrow describes the pipe as a lighter, durable replacement for the standard section that helps lower exhaust temperatures and offers performance gains.

Because the catalytic converter is removed, this part is intended for riders building a full Arrow exhaust set-up. Check the exhaust and emissions rules that apply in your state before fitting a non-catalytic pipe to a road-registered motorcycle.

Fit only when the engine and exhaust are completely cold, and have the work carried out by a qualified technician if you are not confident removing exhaust components.
Check the condition of the OE gaskets, springs and clamps at the joints it connects to, and replace any that are worn or distorted rather than reusing them.
Handle the pipe with clean gloves during installation — fingerprints and oils can bake permanently into stainless steel on the first heat cycle.
After fitting, run the bike briefly, let it cool, then re-check all clamps and fasteners; repeat the check after the first ride.
Clean only when cold, using warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge; rinse and dry thoroughly.
Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and acidic wheel cleaners, which can stain or pit stainless steel.
After riding in mud, sand, dust or near the coast, rinse the pipe and dry it to stop salt and grit causing surface corrosion (tea staining).
Some heat discolouration or bluing near the header is normal for stainless steel and is not a fault.
Do not aim a pressure washer directly at the exhaust joints or into the outlet, and avoid running water into the system.
Inspect the pipe periodically for cracks, dents and loose mountings, particularly after off-road use or a drop.
A compatible Arrow silencer (72010 / 72510 / 72639 series) is required — do not run the bike with the link pipe open and no silencer fitted.
Because this pipe removes the catalytic converter, confirm the exhaust and emissions requirements that apply in your state before using the bike on the road, and keep the original parts if you may need to refit them.
