- Check the part against your helmet's model and shield-system generation before fitting — Arai vent parts are not interchangeable across all models.
- Follow the fitting sequence in your Arai owner's manual; refit the shield afterwards and confirm it opens, closes and seals normally.
- After fitting, check the vent is seated evenly and held securely before riding, and re-check it after the first few rides.
- Clean with warm water and a mild soap on a soft cloth, then dry with a clean microfibre.
- Do not use petrol, thinners, benzine, ammonia-based glass cleaners or other solvents — they can attack the vent's plastic and the surrounding shell and shield.
- Keep the vent openings clear of insects, road grime and dust so airflow is not restricted; a soft brush or a rinse with clean water is enough.
- Store the helmet, and any spare vent, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources such as exhausts or car parcel shelves.
- Replace the vent rather than repairing it if it is cracked, distorted or missing tabs — a loose vent can detach at speed.
