The Arai Tour-X5 is a full-face adventure and dual-sport helmet built for riders who cover ground on sealed roads and unsealed tracks alike. Designed and manufactured in Japan, it carries the fit, finish, and shell construction philosophy Arai has refined over decades.

- Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth; never use petrol, solvents, aerosol sprays, or abrasive cleaners — these damage both the shell material and the graphic finish.
- Clean the face shield with mild soap and lukewarm water; avoid wiping with a dry cloth, which will scratch the lens surface over time.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in cool water with a gentle detergent; rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before refitting — do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Keep the helmet away from fuel vapours, exhaust fumes, and chemical sprays; prolonged exposure degrades the EPS liner and shell composite from the inside out.
- Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight; UV exposure and heat accelerate degradation of shell materials and interior foams.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even where no external damage is visible; EPS liner compression damage is internal and cannot be assessed by eye.
- Inspect the chin strap, buckle, and retention system regularly for fraying, corrosion, or malfunction; do not use the helmet if the retention system is compromised.
- Adjust the peak before riding: lower positions reduce aerodynamic lift at highway speeds; raised positions improve goggle clearance and upward visibility off-road.
- As a general precaution against material ageing, Arai recommends replacing helmets at five years from the manufacture date regardless of apparent condition.
