The Alpinestars Andes V3 Drystar Jacket is a year-round textile touring jacket built around Alpinestars' own Drystar waterproof and breathable membrane, so it keeps rain out while still letting heat and moisture escape when the pace picks up.

A reinforced polyfabric outer shell, polymer-printed texturing at the elbows and lower arms and removable CE-certified shoulder and elbow protectors handle the protective side, while a direct ventilation system and a removable long-sleeve thermal liner let you adapt the same jacket from cold morning starts to warm afternoon rides. It is also Tech-Air 5 ready for riders running an Alpinestars airbag vest.

Remove the thermal liner and take out the shoulder and elbow protectors before cleaning, and wash the liner separately.
Close all zips and fasten the hook-and-loop waist belt before washing so hardware does not snag or abrade the shell.
Follow the care label sewn into the garment for wash temperature and cycle — it takes precedence over general advice.
Use a mild detergent only; avoid bleach, fabric softener, solvents and petrol-based cleaners, all of which can damage the Drystar membrane and the polymer-printed texturing.
Do not dry clean, and do not tumble dry or dry near direct heat such as a heater, exhaust or open flame — hang to air dry instead.
Rinse off road grime, salt and insects after wet or dirty rides; a dirty outer fabric holds water and reduces breathability.
Refit the protectors squarely in their pockets after washing and check they sit over the shoulder and elbow points when you put the jacket on.
Open the chest air intakes and back exhaust ports together for through-flow ventilation in warm weather, and close them plus fit the thermal liner for cold or wet rides.
Adjust the waist belt and hem shock cord so the jacket sits close to the body — a flapping fit moves the protectors out of position.
If you ride with a Tech-Air 5 vest, size and fit the jacket with the vest worn underneath, and set up, charge and update the vest according to its own instructions.
Hang the jacket on a wide hanger in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight; store it fully dry to prevent mould and odour.
Inspect zips, seams, protectors and abrasion panels periodically and replace any damaged component — a jacket that has been through a crash should be assessed before further use.
