Thoroughly clean and degrease the shock body and shaft before beginning the rebuild to prevent contamination of new seals.
Inspect the shock shaft and housing for scoring, corrosion, or deep scratches before fitting new seals — damaged surfaces will cause premature seal failure.
Lubricate new seals lightly with compatible shock fluid or clean grease before installation; never fit seals dry.
Do not reuse old seals or O-rings — replace all components supplied in the kit during each rebuild.
Use the correct shock oil type and fill volume as specified in your motorcycle's service manual.
Torque all retaining hardware and the seal head to the manufacturer's specified torque values; avoid over-tightening.
After reassembly, cycle the suspension through its full travel several times and check for fluid weeping before returning the motorcycle to service.
Dispose of old seals and used shock fluid in accordance with your local council or environmental regulations.
