The Alpinestars A-5 Plasma Chest Protector is anatomically profiled body armour built for every form of off-road riding, from motocross and supercross to trail and enduro days. It pairs composite Nucleon Plasma inserts with semi-rigid thermoplastic outer shells across the chest and back, so the protection stays light and breathable without giving up coverage.

Nucleon Plasma is a viscoelastic material made from bio-based polymers and shaped into a structure that flexes in every direction while still dispersing impact energy. Combined with independent side wings and a perforated 3D mesh chassis, the result is armour that follows the contours of the body and moves with the rider rather than fighting them.

Fit the protector so the chest shell sits centrally over the sternum and the back shell covers the spine, then adjust the shoulder and side straps so the armour stays in place without restricting breathing.
Re-check strap tension before each ride; armour that shifts under impact cannot protect properly.
If you run an Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support, connect it using the BNS shoulder pull tabs and re-check the fit of both items together.
Remove the shoulder padding before cleaning, and hand wash the mesh chassis and padding in cool water with a mild soap.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron or dry clean, and keep solvents, petrol, bleach and harsh detergents away from the Nucleon Plasma and thermoplastic shells.
Rinse mud and dust off after riding rather than letting it dry into the mesh, which can abrade the fabric over time.
Air dry naturally in a shaded, well-ventilated spot; never dry on a heater, in a car interior or in direct sunlight, as heat can distort the shells.
Store hanging or lying flat in a cool, dry place, and avoid storing it compressed under other gear or left in a hot vehicle.
Inspect the shells, mesh chassis, liners and stitching regularly for cracks, splits, delamination or torn material.
Replace the protector after any significant impact or crash, even if no damage is visible — impact-absorbing materials do not offer the same protection twice.
