Description

The Michelin City Extra is a tubeless urban tyre built for the daily grind of commuting and around-town riding. This 90/90-18 57S size suits either the front or rear wheel, depending on your motorcycle or scooter's specified fitment.

It builds on the puncture-resistant construction used in the Michelin City Pro, with a tread pattern designed to hold up over high mileage and Water Sipe Technology to help maintain grip when the road is wet. It's a sensible choice for riders who want a dependable, long-wearing tyre rather than a performance-focused one.

Operations & maintenance

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — tubeless tyres must only be mounted on rims rated for tubeless use.
Check that 90/90-18 57S is an approved size for your machine, and observe the direction-of-rotation and fitting markings on the sidewall.
Ride gently for the first stretch after fitment so the new tread surface can scrub in before hard braking, cornering or full loads.
Check and adjust pressures when the tyre is cold, using the pressures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer for solo or two-up/laden riding.
Inspect the tread and sidewalls regularly for cuts, bulges, uneven wear and embedded stones, nails or glass, and have any damage assessed before riding.
Replace the tyre before it reaches the minimum legal tread depth for motorcycles in your state or territory, and monitor the tread wear indicators.
Do not exceed the load or speed capability marked on the sidewall, and re-check pressures if you add luggage or a pillion.
Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush; avoid solvents, degreasers and silicone-based tyre shines, which can leave the tread slippery.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and fuels or oils.
