Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — tubeless tyres must only be fitted to rims rated for tubeless use.
Check that 130/70-18 and the 63H load/speed rating meet or exceed the fitment specified on your motorcycle's tyre placard or in the owner's manual before fitting.
Observe a run-in period on new rubber: ride gently and avoid hard acceleration, heavy braking and deep lean angles until the release agent has scrubbed off the tread surface.
Set and check cold inflation pressures to the figures specified by your motorcycle manufacturer, and check them regularly — pressure readings taken on a warm tyre will read high.
Inspect the tread and sidewalls regularly for cuts, embedded stones, bulges, cracking or uneven wear, and have any damage assessed before riding.
Replace the tyre before the tread reaches the Australian legal minimum depth of 1.5 mm in the principal grooves, or sooner if wear is uneven.
Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush; keep tyre shine products, solvents, petrol and oils off the tread and sidewalls as they can degrade the rubber and reduce grip.
Allow extra caution in cold, wet or gravel conditions until you are familiar with how the block pattern behaves, and remember that grip on loose surfaces is limited compared with a dedicated off-road tyre.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and chemical exposure.
Do not attempt a permanent repair of a punctured tyre yourself — have any puncture inspected internally and repaired or replaced by a professional.
