Description

The Michelin Power Shift in 160/60 R15 67H is a tubeless radial rear tyre built for maxi-scooters, bringing a genuine motorcycle feel to larger-capacity scooters used every day on the road.

It is aimed at riders who commute and tour on maxi-scooters and want confident grip in the wet as well as the dry, without replacing tyres too often. A dual-compound construction pairs a harder centre for mileage with softer shoulders for cornering grip, while the Water Evergrip Technology tread pattern is designed to keep wet-weather performance consistent as the tyre wears.

Sold individually. Check your scooter's handbook or tyre placard to confirm this size and load/speed rating suit your machine.

Operations & maintenance

Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician — mounting a radial tyre needs the correct machinery and bead lubricant.
Fit only to a rim rated for tubeless radial use and matched to this size; confirm 160/60 R15 and the 67H load/speed rating against your scooter's tyre placard or owner's handbook.
Ride gently for the first stretch of use to scrub in the release agents on the new tread surface, avoiding hard acceleration, heavy braking and deep lean angles until the full tread width has been worn in.
Check and adjust inflation pressure when the tyre is cold, using the pressures specified by your scooter's manufacturer — never the maximum pressure moulded on the sidewall.
Re-check pressures at least fortnightly and before longer rides; under-inflation causes overheating, irregular wear and vague handling, especially with a pillion or luggage.
Inspect regularly for cuts, embedded stones, bulges, sidewall damage and uneven wear, and replace the tyre before the tread wear indicators are reached.
Do not exceed the load or speed rating of the tyre, and keep the front and rear fitment combination as recommended for your scooter.
Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush; keep petrol, oil, brake fluid, solvents and tyre-shine dressings off the tread and sidewalls.
Store spare tyres upright in a cool, dry, dark place away from direct sunlight and electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
If the tyre loses pressure or is punctured, have it inspected by a professional — repairs are not always appropriate on high-speed-rated radial tyres, and replacement is the safer option when in doubt.
