The Michelin Enduro Xtrem NHS is a rear competition tyre built for hard and extreme enduro, where grip on rock, roots, logs and steep climbs matters more than tread life. Its very pliable tread rubber is derived from Michelin's trials tyre compound, so the knobs deform around obstacles and hold traction under drive and braking, while the tread pattern is based on the Michelin Enduro Medium for versatility across mixed terrain.

This listing is the 140/80-18 70M rear fitment in tube type construction, suited to 18-inch enduro and hard enduro machines. It is marked NHS (Not for Highway Service), so it is intended for closed-course competition and off-road use only, not for road registration or highway riding.

• One Michelin Enduro Xtrem NHS rear tyre, 140/80-18 70M

Fit with a suitable inner tube — this is a tube type tyre and must not be run tubeless.
Have the tyre fitted and the wheel checked by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician; the soft compound and stiff knobs make hand fitting awkward and easy to damage.
Observe the rotation direction marked on the sidewall when fitting, and check bead seating all the way around before final inflation.
Use rim locks where your wheel allows, as low competition pressures can let the tyre creep on the rim and shear the tube valve.
Set pressures to suit the terrain and your machine's requirements, and re-check them cold before every ride — pressure has a large effect on grip and on knob tearing.
Ride the first few kilometres gently to scrub in the new surface before pushing for grip.
Inspect regularly for cuts, torn or missing knobs, punctures and sidewall damage after rocky sections, and replace the tyre once the tread is worn out or the carcass is damaged.
Clean with water and mild soap only; keep petrol, oils, brake fluid, solvents and chain lube off the rubber.
Store upright or flat in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from electric motors, which produce ozone that degrades rubber.
Do not use on public roads — the NHS marking means the tyre is not approved for highway use.
